	While the fluoropolymer coatings are wet ( solvent-based ) systems, the VOC's emitted during the 500-degree Fahrenheit (F) curing process are captured and oxidized in a 1,600-degree F thermal incinerator, thus insuring the exhaust of harmless combustion by-products to the atmosphere. Prior to applying the coating to the aluminum, the surface must be chemically converted to amorphous chromium phosphate. This conversion coating is a powerful corrosion inhibitor and an excellent anchor for paint adhesion. The rinse water generated in this process is treated to comply with emission levels required by local, state and federal regulatory authorities before discharging to sewer.
